When I was young, my mother, in the hopes of turning me into a girly girl (which I was NOT), bought me a dollhouse. I was uninterested in it. It sat empty and unplayed with until I was about seven. Also, when I was seven, I was introduced to the world of Star Wars. Realizing I didn't care even remotely about the Barbie dolls or the baby dolls that my mother kept giving to me, I was allowed to instead get Star Wars action figures. (Also, I may have stolen my brother's Star Wars X-Wing Fighter to go with them.) I had nearly a full set. Luke, Han Solo, Princess Leia, Chewbacca, R2D2, and even a Jawa or two. One day I discovered that they were just the size to fit in the dollhouse. So that's where they lived. One big happy family. Living in my dollhouse and Luke would fly his X-Wing Fighter to work. Because after the excitement of the movies, he'd have to go get a real job, right?
But I digress. The reason I share this very silly story is so that you may understand how excited I was to be able to shoot the Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim a few weeks ago. This is what I refer to as a Dream Gig. I got to go to something I very much WANTED to do, take photos and do it all for a client who I love working for. WIN-WIN-WIN situation.
I could gush about what a fun day it was. In fact, it was one of those sort of perfect days - doing what I love - taking photos, hanging out with friends, having a few beers after the convention closed, spending my day being overwhelmed by everything. But instead, I think I'll just post a few photos for you and hopefully my happiness at having had this opportunity will speak for itself.
Recently I was asked to describe Star Wars Celebration 2015 in one word. My response was simply "Amazing." Hope to see you at next year's celebration in London, England!
