A few weeks ago, several of my friends and I took a drive out to the desert for a fantastic day of shooting and silliness. It was the sort of shoot that I don't usually do, but as one of the things on my list of goals for the year is to do more shooting of things that I don't usually shoot - I jumped at the chance to do some more themed portraits and expand my creative palette as it were. Michelle, True Mee and Mandie are fantastic models - and they are amazingly creative costumers. The weather was perfect and we were lucky to be able to find amazing locations inside Joshua Tree National Park just by wandering around (which we did because my usually flawless internal sense of direction seemed to be broken that day).
This was the first of the many looks we did that day - based on the anime series Evangelion. The whole day was fantasy meets science fiction meets a post apocalyptic wasteland (so of course, Joshua Tree was a great shoot location).
Here's a little taste of what we did.
I'm so incredibly chuffed at the results from this shoot. There is so much more to come! Each of the girls did 2 or 3 other looks that day, and we had so much fun!

I'm excited for the new direction I'm exploring in my work and I honestly can't wait to see what comes next. Check back for images of the hottest goldfish you've ever seen, the missing member of Daft Punk, stunning girls from other galaxies, a hitchhiker in an evening gown and even Captain America!
